Sprint announced it will roll out an initiative called “One Sprint” across the U.S. after the new year.
The plan includes identifying individuals to lead the Overland Park, Kan.-based telecom company’s efforts in 19 key cities across the country. Sprint also will establish regional headquarters in New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles, naming leaders for each.
In a newsletter to Sprint employees, CEO Marcelo Claure wrote that he expects this plan to mirror changes the company made in Chicago over the last six months. The company’s efforts there, Claure said, have “been more successful than even we expected at this point.”
Earlier this month, Sprint acknowledged that efforts to eliminate $2.5 billion in costs would result in job cuts.
