SPRINGFIELD — Walmart has been so busy opening a series of Neighborhood Market stores in Springfield throughout the spring and summer that it has also opened a hiring center in the city to help staff them. KOLR 10 in Springfield reports that the market opening in the fall will make for 90 jobs to fill:

The company’s new Walmart Neighborhood Market — the third inSpringfield — is slated to open this fall at 545 W. El Camino Alto Drive.

Walmart says the hiring center at 4200 S. Quail Creek Ave. is now open and will accept applications weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Walmart opened two other Neighborhood Market stores in the city in May. The Neighborhood Market is designed to be a smaller store focused on grocery and pharmaceutical items. Walmart has opened more than 200 of the smaller stores nationwide since 1998.
