Almost three years after taking down the Livestrong Sporting Park sign, Sporting Club has revealed the new naming-rights partner for Sporting Park.

Sporting Kansas City and Children’s Mercy have formed a partnership that will result in renaming Sporting Park, the companies announced Thursday. The partnership will focus on access to pediatric sports medicine, strengthening Sporting KC’s community outreach, and developing soccer curriculum to help young athletes.

Children’s Mercy will have exclusive naming rights to the stadium, as well as Sporting KC’s training center and field at Swope Soccer Village. Children’s Mercy also will be the official health care and sports medicine provider at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center, which will break ground in KCK in the spring.
