MRIGlobal wins five-year federal contract worth up to $100 million

MRIGlobal, a Kansas City-based research organization, announced it has landed a five-year contract with the federal government that could reach $100 million.

The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority awarded the contract to MRIGlobal, for the purpose of developing countermeasures to chemical threats.

The chemical research is important due to the threat of chemical agents in the context of current events. Since the Sept. 11 terror attacks, the United States has been finding ways to counter threats, and MRIGlobal’s research is vital to that effort, according to Robert Casillas, MRIGlobal’s chief scientific officer.
