Kansas City Bier Co. takes three medals at international competition

In its second year participating in the International Beer and Cider Competition, Kansas City Bier Co. took home three medals.

The brewery won a gold medal for its Dunkel, a silver medal for its Weizenbock and a bronze for its Festbier.

The company, which is based in the Waldo neighborhood, has only been selling beer since March 2014. It has won medals at various competitions since then.

The company is in the middle of a $1.2 million expansion project to double capacity and sell bottled beer. It is aiming to increase production to 12,000 barrels per year, up from 9,000.
