A developer hopes to begin construction next year on a 14-story, $68.5 million office building on Forsyth Boulevard in downtown Clayton.

According to documents made public Tuesday by the city of Clayton, the Apogee office tower would top out at 230 feet and have 233,226 square feet of space. The vacant two-story retail building now on the site would be demolished to make way for the office building.

The project would be the first major office building in Clayton since the 17-story Centene Plaza building opened in June 2010.
