Many shoppers don’t wait for Black Friday to head to stores

Holiday shoppers flocked to retail stores around on Thanksgiving day to take advantage of early Black Friday deals, many of which now begin on Thursday.

While some shoppers complain of Black Friday deals creeping into the holiday and cutting into time with family, others say that in the end, the savings are worth it.

This year, retailers spent months planning for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, which account for a large chunk of their annual revenue. Many retailers stretched out sales to attract shoppers with discounts far beyond a single day, offering “Black Friday” promotions throughout the week, though many of the national chains and big box stores still opened doors on Thanksgiving hours earlier than previous years.
