Express Scripts investing $25 million with VC firm

Express Scripts Holding Co. plans to invest $25 million in a new fund with local venture capital firm Lewis & Clark Ventures.

The multi-year commitment from Express Scripts will provide support for early stage innovation, specifically targeting new technologies that could provide the pharmacy benefit management firm with “early access to the next big ideas in health care,” according to a release from the company.

“Our partnership with Express Scripts further strengthens our network, and may also be an invaluable resource and catalyst for growth for our healthcare portfolio companies,” Brian Hopcraft, managing director for Lewis & Clark Ventures, said in a statement.
