Portugese plastics company plans to hire 110 in $35 million KC expansion

Logoplaste, a Portuguese company that makes plastic bottles, is planning to invest $35 million to expand its Kansas City facility in a move expected to create more than 110 jobs over five years.

The expansion will make the Kansas City facility, which was established in 2013, the company’s U.S. manufacturing and distribution hub. Once the hiring is complete, Logoplaste expects to employ 185 people in Kansas City.

All told, the company has 67 facilities in 17 countries, producing plastic packaging for beverages, personal and household care items, and oil and lubricants.

Logoplaste is eligible for more than $400,000 in incentives from the Missouri Department of Economic development if the expansion meets certain job creation criteria.
