Gas tax hike to resurface in Missouri Legislature

With another legislative session set to begin on Jan. 6, state lawmakers will once again have the opportunity to pore over proposals to increase Missouri’s fuel tax.

Already, several lawmakers are floating their own projects they believe would help resolve the state’s chronic lack of funding for road and bridge projects.

The state, which needs approximately $160 million for additional revenues, has already secured federal matching dollars for transportation for Missouri for the next 1.5 years.
