St. Louis group plans $104 million mixed-use redevelopment near Ikea

The Lawrence Group, a St. Louis-based architecture, planning and development firm, will undertake a $104 million redevelopment effort in midtown St. Louis, the latest in a series of large projects near the city’s new Ikea store.

Plans call for the site of the Federal Mogul Century Foundry, a car parts factory shuttered in 2007, to be converted into a mixed-use development that includes a supermarket, stores, office space and 250 residential units.

Smith and an undisclosed investor group purchased the property for $6.4 million on Dec. 22. The firm said an initial phase could be completed in 2018.
