Budweiser brand to get packaging makeover

Anheuser-Busch InBev is giving its 140-year-old Budweiser brand a visual face-lift, with changes that include using the same packaging worldwide for the first time.

Design firm Jones Knowles Ritchie has been working on the project for the brewer since December 2013, with a team of nearly 30 focused on the project.

In September, A-B InBev quietly revealed the new look, targeting a complete rollout by mid-February. The packaging will focus on the brand’s crest and font rather than the iconic bow tie logo.

The brewer declined to disclose how much was spent on the redesign beyond tens of millions.
