Record results at General Motors mean most of the automaker’s 49,600 hourly workers will receive profit-sharing checks for $11,000 on Feb. 26, including 3,700 workers at the company’s plant in Wentzville.

The $11,000 payment is an “all-time high” and follows a $9,000 bonus last year, according to Tom Brune, spokesman for Local 2250 of the United Auto Workers.

GM on Wednesday credited strong results in North America and China, and a reversal of fortunes in Europe, for record net profit of $9.7 billion last year.

Last month, Ford announced it would pay out profit-sharing checks to over 7,500 hourly employees at its Claycomo assembly plant on March 10.
