Public session on proposed Teamsters pension cuts set for Tuesday in Kansas City

A public session on planned cuts to benefits under the Central States Pension Fund will be held Tuesday evening at the Kansas City Convention Center.

The U.S. Treasury will rule on whether the plan, which involves cuts of 50 percent and more to many retired Teamsters, meets the requirements of a 2014 law that allows the plan to be considered.

Mediator Kenneth Feinberg was appointed to handle the case. He will hear from those affected by the proposal during the session.
