Springfield hotel room revenue set record in 2015

Springfield’s lodging industry set records for annual room sale revenue and average daily rate in 2015.

The city saw $100.3 million in room sales over the course of the year, an increase of about 9 percent compared to the previous record of $91.9 million set in 2014, the Springfield Convention & Visitor Bureau announced Thursday.

The CVB, which works to boost the Springfield-area economy through growth in travel and tourism, is optimistic about positive trends continuing this year.
