Boeing appoints new defense unit CEO

St. Louis-based Boeing announced Wednesday that Leanne Caret will replace Chris Chadwick as CEO of the company’s Defense, Space and Security business beginning March 1.

Caret, a 28-year Boeing veteran, has been running Boeing military programs for most of her career. She previously was vice president and general manager of Vertical Lift, a division of Boeing Military Aircraft.

Caret’s promotion means that all three lead positions at Boeing — corporate CEO, CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, and CEO of the defense side — will be people from heritage Boeing.
