After delaying annual filing, SunEdison suspends preferred dividends

SunEdison said Wednesday it is suspending payment of quarterly dividends on its preferred stock. The move comes two days after the Maryland Heights-based solar developer delayed filing its annual report amid an internal investigation into its finances.

Before SunEdison’s announcement on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that investment banks including Goldman Sachs and Barclays have reconsidered loans they had committed to fund the purchase of some Vivint Solar Inc. assets by TerraForm Power Inc., a SunEdison yield company.

SunEdison shares were down 12.8 percent, to $1.56, on Thursday morning in pre-market trading.
