Square’s revenue jumps in first earnings report since IPO

Mobile payments company Square Inc.’s revenue beat analysts’ predictions in its first quarterly results since going public in November.

The company, founded by St. Louis natives Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey, posted a total net revenue of $374.4 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, beating analysts’ average estimate of $343.2 million.

The company’s shares were up 3.7 percent in extended trading on Wednesday.
