Cerner Shows Strong Earnings, Thanks In Part To Health Care Reform

KANSAS CITY – Cerner Corp. posted net earnings of 56 cents per share in the second quarter 2012, a jump of 33 percent the same period last year, The Kansas City Star reports. The North Kansas City-based health information technology company saw increased revenues with $637.4 million for the quarter, a spike of 22 percent over second quarter last year.

The company got a boost partly from provisions in the health care reform law that mandate the digitizing of medical records to reduce health care costs.
