Anheuser-Busch is adding to its growing craft beer brands with the acquisition of Virginia’s Devils Backbone Brewing Co.
The sale is set to close in the second quarter, A-B said. Financial terms were not disclosed. St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch is the the U.S. unit of Belgium-based A-B InBev.
Devils Backbone’s flagship beer is Vienna Lager, which accounted for more than half of its sales last year. Devils Backbone will join A-B’s craft and import business unit, The High End. The High End includes other craft breweries A-B has acquired, including Goose Island, Blue Point, 10 Barrel, Elysian, Golden Road, Virtue Cider, Four Peaks and Breckenridge Brewery.
