Centene showcases $25 million facility in Ferguson

Centene Corp. unveiled its new $25 million service center in Ferguson on Friday, a facility that employs more than 200 people — most from north St. Louis County.

The new service center is the fulfillment of a pledge made by the Clayton-based managed care company in September 2014, less than a month after the fatal shooting of Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer.

CEO Michael Neidorff said he wanted to build in Ferguson after he heard that some small business owners were considering not reopening after the unrest.
