Vivint Solar, target of failed SunEdison acquisition, to take part in bankruptcy

Solar panel installer Vivint Solar Inc. said it will participate in SunEdison’s bankruptcy case in order to maximize its recovery from claims against the Maryland Heights-based solar developer.

SunEdison, which filed for bankruptcy April 21, agreed last July to acquire Utah-based Vivint in a $2.2 billion deal. The agreement was terminated in March.

Vivint has filed a lawsuit alleging SunEdison willfully breached obligations under that merger agreement. Vivint is seeking damages.

In other news related to its bankruptcy, SunEdison said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange on May 17.
