There is finally a place to stay on Branson Landing again. The shopping district’s Hilton hotel, ravaged by a tornado in February, is now scheduled to reopen for business during the first week of September instead of the previous estimate of early October. As KOLR 10 in Springfield reports:
The hotel is replacing 3,800 panes of glass in the building, many of which were blown out or cracked by the late February EF-2 tornado that swirled down Highway 76 to the Lake Taneycomo waterfront. … Every piece of furniture and all of the carpet in the hotel will be new. Even the landscaping will be dug up because of fallen glass.
[Hotel manager Bill] Derbins says the outside of the hotel will have a new look. The windows will have a blue shade and will also be more energy efficient.
