Kansas City International Airport served more than 1 million passengers in July, making it the busiest passenger month at the airport in nearly 10 years.
The Aviation Department said 1,050,904 travelers arrived and departed out of the airport’s gates in July, up 3.4 percent from the same period in 2015. It was the busiest month since 2007, according to Justin Meyer, deputy aviation director for marketing and air service. June also saw just over 1 million passengers. June, July and August are typically the airport’s busiest months.
The total number of passengers so far this year is 6.3 million, up 5.6 percent. KCI is on pace to serve 10.9 million arriving and departing passengers this year.
