Amazon welcomes new employees in Edwardsville
Amazon recently welcomed new employees for their first day at work at the online retailer’s two fulfillment centers in Edwardsville.
The company says it will have more than 1,000 full-time employees in Edwardsville. Both fulfillment centers have more than 700,000 square feet of space where workers pick, pack and ship items for customers.
Mary Lamie, executive director of the St. Louis Regional Freightway, which promotes the region’s logistics and freight industries, has said that Amazon’s facility in Edwardsville signals confidence in the region’s location, transportation infrastructure and workforce to other large global companies scouting sites for distribution and logistics centers.
