Former Peabody exec to join Arch Coal’s new board

Arch Coal Inc. has proposed a board of directors to help guide the company after its exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Joining CEO John Eaves on the board of the Creve Coeur-based coal miner will be Patrick Bartels Jr., managing principal at Monarch Alternative Capital LP; James Chapman, a non-executive Advisory Director of SkyWorks Capital LLC; Sherman Edmiston III, a former chief restructuring officer at Xinergy Ltd.; Scott Vogel, a partner at Vogel Partners LP and Patrick Kriegshauser, executive vice president, chief financial officer and principal owner of Sachs Electric Co.

The proposed board also includes Richard Navarre, who was president of St. Louis-based Peabody Energy, the world’s biggest private-sector coal producer, until his retirement in 2012. Peabody filed for bankruptcy in April.
