First new office building in 30 years planned for downtown St. Louis

Downtown St. Louis could soon see its first new commercial office building in decades if a plan from Koman Group moves forward.

Koman Group is asking for $8.7 million in tax increment financing (TIF) for a $43.5 million, five-story mixed-use development across the street from Busch Stadium.

If completed, the project would be downtown St. Louis’ first new office development in three decades.

Koman’s TIF application shows the group is in negotiations with an anchor tenant that would move 310 jobs currently located across multiple unspecified offices to the development and potentially add another 280 jobs in the future. The city said the project could be complete by December 2018.
