Boeing Co. has promoted Pat Goggin to president of its Defense, Space & Security Development organization, replacing Jim O’Neill, who plans to retire next year.
The company said late Friday that Goggin, currently vice president of Airplane Programs Engineering in its commercial airplanes unit, will move into his new post in December to collaborate with O’Neill during a transition period.
O’Neill also served as St. Louis senior site executive; that role now shifts to Shelley Lavender, president of Boeing Military Aircraft.
In his post in the commercial airplanes unit, Goggin oversaw the engineering teams supporting all current 7-series passenger planes. Prior to that, he was vice president of Boeing’s Development Program Excellence initiative, “focused on properly starting programs and identifying key risk areas,” officials said.
