St. Louis’ Wehrenberg Theatres to be sold

St. Louis’ largest theater chain, Wehrenberg Theatres, has agreed to be sold to Milwaukee-based Marcus Theatres, the companies said Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Not including seasonal employees, Wehrenberg has 998 workers, including 31 in its corporate office, according to a Marcus spokeswoman.

Rodriguez said the company is evaluating possible synergies, but that Marcus could maintain a St. Louis office of some size.
