Nestlé USA plans to add as many as 300 technology jobs in St. Louis as it moves its IT operations from California to St. Louis, company officials announced Wednesday.
The move is part of Swiss-based Nestlé SA’s relocation of its U.S. subsidiary’s corporate headquarters from California to Virginia.
The company’s Nestlé Purina PetCare unit has its base in downtown St. Louis, where about 3,000 employees work. It’s unclear where the new IT employees will be based locally.
A spokeswoman with the Missouri Department of Economic Development said the state is working with Nestlé to identify ways it can help the company grow in Missouri.
