St. Louis-based Panera Bread, which operates in its home market as St. Louis Bread Co., is adding delivery to customers in the St. Louis area.
Signs went up at St. Louis Bread Co. stores this week touting the new delivery service, and the company has dozens of jobs posted for delivery drivers in the area.
St. Louis Bread Co. will slowly add delivery at individual restaurants in the coming weeks, Panera’s president, Blaine Hurst, told the Post-Dispatch. With the service, customers can order lunch and dinner from their smartphones or laptops and have it delivered to their homes or offices for a $3 fee.
The restaurant chain started testing delivery in some markets about two years ago. Delivery will be added at all Panera restaurants nationwide by the end of next year, Hurst said.
