Experiencing massive growth and needing more space, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies LLC leased 62,500 square feet of additional space in the Kansas City area to house about 300 employees.
Honeywell currently has about 3,000 employees in the U.S. Department of Energy’s 1.5 million-square-foot National Security Campus in Kansas City and another 100 in New Mexico. By the end of this year, Honeywell expects to employ a total of 3,500 people, including 300 in New Mexico.
The majority of the hires will be engineers and manufacturing laborer jobs.
Honeywell’s Kansas City operation makes all the non-nuclear components for the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. The stockpile is scheduled for refurbishment to improve safety and security features, such as thwarting modern threats such as cyber attacks.
