With the University of Missouri System facing millions of dollars in budget cuts and resulting layoffs, UM System President Mun Choi delivered an address Friday afternoon to discuss “the final plan to address budget issues in the upcoming fiscal year and beyond.”
The statewide system released draft budget plans for each of its four campuses on May 19. The system’s allocation of funds, according to a press release, is designed to “support the University’s areas of excellence and its critical mission of teaching, research and outreach.”
Garnett Stokes, interim chancellor of the University of Missouri’s campus in Columbia, also led a discussion Friday about spending at the system’s flagship campus.
