Andy’s Frozen Custard on Wednesday opened a location in Fort Worth, Texas — making 50 stores for the Springfield-based chain.
Company president Andy Kuntz said in a news release that he envisions continued growth for the custard chain.
John and Carol Kuntz founded the business in Osage Beach in 1986 and named it after their son. Andy Kuntz said in the release his parents “never imagined there would be fifty locations.”
The company has locations in nine states: Missouri, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee.
Much of the company’s growth has come in the past two years. Andy’s has opened six new locations to date in 2017, on top of 16 in 2016 and seven in 2015.
The company expects to open five more stores in 2017.
