UMKC nonprofit leadership center gets $396K Kauffman grant

The Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is receiving a two-year grant worth $396,800 from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to help its work expanding the capacity of nonprofit organizations in the Kansas City area, according to a UMKC news release.

The center, which is part of UMKC’s Bloch School of Management, will use the funds to support its core programs and services, and to expand its research in social entrepreneurship and governance, according to the release.

The center will also use Kauffman funds to offer a “learning circle,” a course structure that will guide up to 20 nonprofits that need evaluation services, but cannot afford them, through an evaluation process.
