Missouri’s back-to-school Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday and runs through Sunday. You don’t have to be a Missouri resident, parent or student to participate.
Some local governments are also waiving taxes on applicable items — which can amount to as much as 8 or 9 percent savings on electronics and apparel.
However, there’s no easy way to figure out where to find get the best deal.
Shoppers should check the Missouri Department of Revenue website for municipalities that are not participating, but when in doubt, should ask before they hit the register.
