Regions Bank is embarking on a sizable expansion in St. Louis by opening eight new branches.
The Birmingham, Alabama-based bank has acquired land, and it plans to open new branches in University City, Des Peres, Florissant, St. Peters, Lake Saint Louis and Twin Oaks. The University City branch is slated to open by the end of 2017 and the remainder, including two in St. Peters, are expected to open in the first half of next year, according to bank leaders.
The seven new branches are in addition to a new Regions branch under construction in Clayton. The Clayton branch’s drive-thru will open in August, and the branch will open in October.
In the past two years, Regions expanded its branch network by adding branches in St. Ann and Arnold and rebuilt its Jennings branch.
Regions declined to disclose the total cost for the new branches but said each new branch cost between $3 million and $7 million.
