St. Louis-based Ascension, the nation’s largest nonprofit health care system, is now partnering with Silicon Valley startup accelerator Plug and Play Tech Center.
Ascension, a $21.9 billion organization, will coach, mentor and test ideas of Plug and Play Tech Center’s Health and Wellness Technology Accelerator. The accelerator annually provides two 12-week programs for some 40 health-related young companies chosen from thousands of applicants, connecting them with sponsoring organizations such as Ascension.
Ascension’s vice president of innovation, Chris Young, said the company looked at multiple accelerators before teaming up with Plug and Play Tech Center.
