A Walmart store in the St. Louis area closed briefly Sunday afternoon after protesters began chanting inside the store.
A short time later, the West County Center in Des Peres closed for about 20 minutes when protesters turned up there.
Police officers were visible at the scene of both protests, which began as part of an economic boycott effort by African-American clergy and activists over a range of issues.
Sunday’s demonstrations followed Black Friday protests elsewhere in the St. Louis area. The St. Louis Galleria closed for about half an hour Friday after seven people were arrested, including state Rep. Bruce Franks Jr., a Democrat.
