Developer of St. Louis County retirement community plans $201 million expansion

The parent company of the Friendship Village retirement communities is planning a $201 million expansion in Sunset Hills and Chesterfield.

St. Louis County-based FV Services Inc. announced Wednesday that its board of directors approved the expansion that will add senior living apartments and expanded assisted living units, in addition to new skilled nursing buildings outfitted with rehabilitation clinics, therapy gyms and fitness classrooms.

At Friendship Village’s 36-acre Chesterfield campus, a new four-story building will have 52 apartments and a new assisted living building will have 39 apartments in addition to a memory care unit. A new 90-bed skilled nursing facility, chapel and clubhouse lobby are also planned.

In Sunset Hills, a new apartment building with 76 units will be added to the 52-acre campus, in addition to a 144-bed “Village Care Center” and other expanded facilities.
