Centene, the Clayton-based health insurance company, will acquire MHM Services, a Vienna, Virginia-based company that provides health care and staffing services to correctional facilities and other government agencies, Centene announced Monday.
Previously, Centene and MHM have been partners in Centurion, a joint venture providing health care services to correctional facilities. Acquiring MHM expands the footprint of Centene’s correctional health business to 14 states, up from seven, and adds expertise that Centene lacked, the company said.
MHM currently provides medical, dental or behavioral health services to 330,000 individuals in more than 300 facilities across the U.S., according to the release.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
