Former SunEdison execs face lawsuit from investment firm

SunEdison’s former CEO Ahmad Chatila and former CFO Brian Wuebbels face a federal lawsuit alleging they withheld information about the company’s financial standing.

Fir Tree Partners, a New York-based investment firm, filed a suit last week against the former executives of the Maryland Heights-based solar developer, alleging Chatila and Wuebbels knew about their company’s debt and liquidity issues but did not disclose that information to the public.

SunEdison filed for bankruptcy in April 2016. Wuebbels’ employment was terminated in May 2016. Chatila resigned in June of that year.

Earlier this year, the company emerged from Chapter 11 as a privately held company.
