Made in KC to blend food, retail in new Plaza space

The Made in Kansas City Marketplace, a new concept blending retail and food-hall concepts, is coming to the city’s Country Club Plaza shopping district. The space will combine local retailers with different food and beverage vendors whose offerings include coffee, ice cream and beer.

The space aims to provide a brick-and-mortar presence for smaller vendors who otherwise would struggle to survive in the Plaza, a high-end retail district.

The marketplace is expected to feature permanent vendors, including Family Tree Nursery, Ampersand Design Studio, SewKC, Kansas City Canning Co., Made Urban Apparel, Flint and Field, and Christopher Elbow Chocolates. It will also include a rotation of seasonal vendors.

The project is the latest from Made in KC, co-founded by Keith Bradley, Thomas McIntyre and Tyler Enders. The announcement follows about a month after the opening of a Made in KC retail space in the Crossroads Arts District.
