Luxco, a St. Louis-based producer and marketer of liquor, has acquired Niche Drinks, a liquor company based in Derry, Northern Ireland, and it plans to build a new whiskey distillery in the city.
The announcement follows on the heels of the April 11 opening of Luxco’s new $35 million distillery located in Bardstown, Kentucky, which will enable Luxco to significantly increase bourbon production.
In the past, Niche has produced Luxco’s Saint Brendan’s Irish Cream and the companies have collaborated on Quiet Man Irish Whiskey.
The family-held company had revenue of $280 million in 2016.
