The redevelopment of Kansas City’s East Crossroads district will continue with a new mixed-use project that developers are hailing as the largest yet in the neighborhood.
Milhaus Development, an Indianapolis-based firm, is planning a $65 million project that would bring 340 market-rate apartments, retail space and a restaurant to a two-block plot.
The project would begin to bridge the Crossroads district with Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine District, located due east.
The property is under contract to be acquired from from Kissel Properties, a Hallmark subsidiary.
Construction on the project is expected to begin by year’s end and be completed within 18 months of groundbreaking.
