Nestle is ushering in a new era in the northwest Missouri town of Trenton. The Swiss food and beverage company was scheduled to restart the assembly line at a factory in the town this week, following its purchase of the facility from Conagra.
Close to two years ago, Conagra announced plans to shutter the factory. But this spring the companies announced a deal for Nestle to purchase the facility. The move is expected to preserve about 120 jobs in a community of 6,000 people.
Nestle has indicated it plans to increase its workforce and production at the plant, at which the company will use a flash line to manufacture a variety of products.
