Millstone Capital Advisors is adding to its menu of restaurant holdings. The Clayton-based private equity firm has acquired Native Foods Café, a fast-casual vegan restaurant chain headquartered in Chicago.
Native Foods Café was founded in 1994 in Palm Springs, California, and has 13 stores in California, Colorado, Illinois and Oregon. It may open a St. Louis restaurant following the acquisition.
The restaurant’s management team will continue to run the business, Millstone said.
Millstone also owns Lion’s Choice, the St. Louis-based chain of roast beef restaurants, and has opened several new Lion’s Choice stores since acquiring the chain in 2013.
