Shamrock Trading Corp. announced Tuesday that it will build a $250 million facility across the street from its headquarters Overland Park, Kansas. The freight brokerage and logistics firm said the expansion will help create 1,000 jobs over the next five years that will pay an average salary of $56,000.
Shamrock purchased the 30-acre property, formerly known as the French Market shopping mall, in July. Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer said the planned 750,000-square-foot project will receive a small amount of incentives from both the city and the state, but details were not disclosed.
Coyler referred to the company’s plans as one of the largest job creation announcements on the Kansas side of the metropolitan area in recent years.
