The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis has been named the 2018 large chamber of the year by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the St. Louis organization announced Tuesday.
The award recognizes a chamber for achievements in areas including economic development, access to capital and service to the Hispanic business community.
It’s the second national award of this kind for the St. Louis Hispanic chamber in a span of six years. In 2013, the group was recognized by the national chamber as the top small Hispanic chamber in the U.S.
The St. Louis group increased its membership by 45 percent between July 2016 and July 2017, according to Facundo Oyenard, board chair for the Hispanic Chamber of Metropolitan St. Louis.
