Missouri electric workers to assist recovery efforts after Hurricane Florence

Crews from 33 electric cooperatives in Missouri are traveling to South Carolina to help restore power in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

A total of 162 line workers from across the state were expected to begin traveling toward South Carolina on Friday. Once the storm passes through, they will set to work assisting in the recovery process.

Workers from 10 other states are expected to travel to South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia to assist.

Missouri line workers have helped with hurricane recovery efforts dating back to 2004 and Hurricane Ivan, according to a press release. Last year, they helped restore power in Florida and Georgia after Hurricane Irma.
